Short-Term Focused Therapy FAQ

Please reach us at tiffanyc@hopearisepllc.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Hope Arise was created with a different approach to therapy. While traditional counseling often focuses on ongoing, long-term treatment, Hope Arise specializes in short-term, focused therapy for individuals and families who need meaningful support now.

Our work is intentional, structured, and goal-oriented. Rather than simply providing a place to talk, therapy focuses on understanding what is happening in the present, stabilizing the situation, identifying what needs to change, and helping clients develop practical tools they can continue using beyond therapy.

What makes Hope Arise unique is the level of support surrounding the client—not just what happens during the therapy session. This can include, when appropriate, family involvement can be incorporated into care, helping loved ones better understand what their family member is experiencing and how they can support the healing process.

Yes. Hope Arise offers in-person therapy, and in-person sessions are preferred whenever possible. For crisis-focused therapy, being together in the same room can provide a greater level of connection, support, and clinical engagement—particularly when clients are experiencing significant distress or instability.

Yes. Meaningful and effective therapy can absolutely take place virtually. While in-person sessions are preferred whenever possible, telehealth provides an important option for clients who live farther from the office, have demanding schedules, or may not otherwise be able to access therapy during the day.

Individual (both adults and adolescents), Couples, and Families.

Hope Arise provides short-term, crisis-focused therapy using evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to each client’s needs and goals. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all model, therapy is focused on understanding what is happening now, identifying what needs to change, and developing practical tools to help clients move forward.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (BCBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) are primary approaches used to help clients identify patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be contributing to their current struggles as well as regulating and building healthy coping mechanisms quickly. Depending on the client’s needs, I also incorporate approaches such as Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based interventions, and other evidence-based techniques.

For clients experiencing specific concerns, treatment may also incorporate specialized interventions related to trauma, PTSD, sleep difficulties, emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, and crisis stabilization.

My approach is intentionally focused, collaborative, and practical. Because Hope Arise specializes in short-term therapy, the goal is not simply to talk about what is wrong, but to help clients gain clarity, build effective coping skills, address the immediate crisis, and develop the confidence and tools needed to continue moving forward.

The specific therapeutic approach is determined by the client—not the diagnosis alone. Every person’s circumstances, strengths, goals, and needs are different, and treatment is adapted accordingly. to this item.
